June 30 SAC – CHAPMAN GOLF : How It Works
Every team is made up of two players. We will be applying a combined two-player course handicap. You’re paired in a foursome with another couple/team. At the end of the round, prizes will be awarded for the lowest NET team score.
THE FORMAT: Both golfers on your two-player team tee off. Then you both switch balls after the drive; in other words, on your second shot you’ll be hitting your teammate’s drive. Next, the two of you decide which ball (both balls are now lying two) to take as your team ball. The ball not selected is just picked up. The selected ball will become your team ball played at this point forward in alternate shots until it is holed. The player whose ball is not selected as the team ball (the ball lying two) will be the person who hits the team ball on the third shot. Then you alternate shots until the team ball is holed. You simply write down the number of shots taken by the team ball as your team score for the hole. This same format is used for every hole.
This will be a NET-based game so you’ll give your course handicap when you call in by Friday noon to sign up (503-690-4589). As in all SAC events, there will be prizes and everyone just contributes $1 to be eligible to win prize money, glory and sleeves of balls for birdies and chip-ins.
